During a fireside chat at SIGGRAPH 2024, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang spoke about their shared vision for the AI-powered future.

Both CEOs emphasized the importance of open-source AI, with Zuckerberg highlighting Llama 3.1's release as an "inflection point."

Runway just announced that Gen-3 Alpha, the startup’s popular AI text-to-video generation model, can now create high-quality videos from still images. According to Runway, image-to-video greatly improves the artistic control and consistency of video generations.

 

Apple has just released the developer betas for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, giving users access to the company’s first set of AI features.

Some of the Apple Intelligence features arriving with the beta include Siri with an updated design and ability to maintain context across multiple requests, new Mail features like smart reply and email summaries, natural language search in Photos, and other tweaks, according to 9to5Mac.

Meta launched AI Studio, a platform allowing users to create, share, and discover custom AI characters without technical skills, built on Llama 3.1.

Anyone can create their own AI designed to make you laugh, generate memes, give travel advice and so much more. Creators can also make an AI as an extension of themselves to answer common DM questions and story replies, helping them reach more people.
